How to Enhance Faces in Videos with AI

Part 1: Introduction

Blurry faces, missed focus, and partial occlusion can make portrait videos look unclear. Wondershare UniConverter 18 uses upgraded generative AI face enhancement to improve facial clarity and restore natural-looking details. The new algorithm also improves consistency across frames, helping reduce facial flickering and detail changes in challenging footage, such as family videos, interviews, and older recordings. Follow the steps below to enhance faces in videos on Windows.

Part 2: How to Enhance Faces in Videos with UniConverter 18

Step 1 Open Video Enhancer.

Launch Wondershare UniConverter 18 on your Windows PC and click Video Enhancer on the Home screen.

Step 2 Select Face Enhancement and import a video.

In the Video Enhancer window, select Face Enhancement under Enhancement & Upscaling. Choose Ultra (Gen AI), then click Add Video to import the portrait video you want to enhance. You can also drag and drop a supported video file into the workspace.

Step 3 Choose the output resolution and preview the video.

Under Ultra (Gen AI), select an Output Resolution: Original, 2x, 4x, 1080P, or 2K. This generative AI model enhances facial details and is designed to improve consistency in videos with blurred or partially obscured faces.

Click Preview (3 s) to generate a short preview before exporting the enhanced video.

Step 4 Compare the original and enhanced video.

Check the Original and Result views to compare facial clarity and details. Look at areas such as the eyes, hair, and facial contours, and play the preview to review how the enhanced face appears across frames.

Note: Enhancement results depend on the source video. Severe blur, significant occlusion, or complex motion may still affect facial detail and consistency.

Step 5 Enhance and export the video.

Choose a destination under Save to, then click Enhance All & Export. When the export task notification appears, click Confirm to view the processing status.

Wait for the enhancement process to finish. A Success label appears on the video thumbnail when processing is complete.
