UniConverter keeps the source files, output choices, and completed results together. Use shared settings for a consistent delivery and separate files whose destinations or codecs differ.
Open Converter and collect the supported local videos for the current delivery. Phone recordings, camera exports, and screen captures can enter the same queue when supported; group files by their required output.
Use Convert to for an available format and resolution profile. A common output is useful when the destination requirement matches across the collection, but exceptions still deserve a file-level check.
A filename ending in MP4 does not identify every stream inside it. Check the video and audio requirements as well as the container, and retain the tracks the delivery actually needs.
Input and output support can differ by operating system, selected codec, and installed version. Check the target profile and sample output.
When approved files arrive throughout a campaign, configure one watched input folder and a conversion destination. Watch Folder can process new arrivals without manually rebuilding each import.
Watch Folder automates conversion. It does not create a different edited ad version or automatically publish the output.
Conversion should solve a specific compatibility or delivery problem. Decide which files can share an output, which tracks are required, and whether a new encode is necessary.
Use a representative export to check the destination before running a large collection. The current V18 Windows Guide supplies the tutorial labels; other versions or platforms can differ.

Prepare the collection, configure the required output, and verify a representative export. These stages cover the queue, format settings, audio checks, and completed results.
Open UniConverter 18 and choose Converter from Home. Use Add Files or Add Folder, or drag supported videos into the workspace. Review the files in Converting and group the clips by their intended destination.
Select Convert to and choose the supported target format and profile. Use the Settings icon beside the format for available custom video and audio options. Review individual exceptions and required Audio Track selections. When practical, convert a representative file first and test playback before starting the remaining collection.
Choose a separate Save to destination and click Convert All. Open Finished after processing and use the folder icon to inspect saved files. Check the output container and codec, duration, resolution, audio, and expected count; test a sample in the receiving editor or uploader.
For a product launch or Black Friday campaign, teams may receive phone demos, screen recordings, and agency exports. Inspect compatibility before converting the entire folder; an accepted file should not be re-encoded just because another clip needs it.
If the actual format, codec, dimensions, duration, and size meet the destination’s requirements, retain the approved file instead of creating an unnecessary new encode.
If only the wrapper is unsuitable and the encoded streams fit the new container, a compatible remux or stream-copy workflow may avoid re-encoding. Check the resulting tracks and playback.
If the destination cannot decode the picture or audio, choose a supported codec in an appropriate output profile. An MP4 extension alone is not proof of compatibility.
If compatibility is already suitable but the file exceeds a limit, use the separate batch compressor. A format change does not guarantee a smaller output or a specific MB ceiling.
For example, a store might receive a MOV demonstration from a phone, an MKV screen recording, and an approved MP4 ad. Shopify accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM product-video uploads, so MOV does not automatically mean “convert to MP4.” Check Shopify’s current requirements and test the intended destination. If another channel requests a particular video or audio codec, choose that profile rather than changing only the suffix.
Container versus encoding: remuxing changes the wrapper while copying eligible encoded streams. It cannot apply a new crop or fix an unsupported video codec. Transcoding decodes and re-encodes the media, which can affect quality and size. FFmpeg’s stream-copy documentation explains why container and stream compatibility must be checked. Do not assume every conversion uses a lossless path.
Watch Folder is useful when editors keep delivering completed product clips that need the same conversion output. A single prepared collection belongs in the normal Converter queue; new arrivals over the following days can use a monitored folder.
Use an incoming-approved folder for finished clips and a separate converted-output folder. Name source files with the SKU and version before handing them over, then sort the reviewed output into the relevant channel-delivery folders. This is a suggested team process, not a claim that Watch Folder automatically creates channel variants or naming rules.
Keep different output requirements in separate reviewed jobs. Watch Folder does not automatically crop an ad, publish it to a storefront, or trigger the standalone Compressor.
