ACDSee Batch Edit Photos guide

How to Batch Edit and Watermark Photos in ACDSee

ACDSee batch editing can combine several photo operations in one job. In Windows Photo Studio editions with Batch Edit, select the files in Manage mode, open Tools > Batch > Batch Edit, choose the operations, preview the results, and set output options. ACDSee Actions provides another route for reusable processing. Keep edition-specific menus separate from the Mac workflow.

Quick Answer
  • Select the intended images in Manage mode, then open Tools > Batch > Batch Edit in the Windows workflow described here.
  • Enable only the required operations, such as Crop, Resize, or Watermark, and inspect Before/After plus several different source images.
  • Use Output Options for a separate destination, format, naming, and conflict handling. Keep originals until the edited collection is accepted.

Choose the Right ACDSee Batch Edit Photos Workflow

Use the source, required operation, and delivery destination to choose the method. Shared setup is useful only when it matches the files in the collection.

Your task
Workflow choiceACDSee Batch Edit
Workflow choiceACDSee Actions or another workspace
Repeatable adjustments
✓Select available edits in the wizard and preview their combined effect.
Use Actions when the installed edition provides the reusable processing sequence you need.
Crop and resize
✓Configure each operation deliberately.
Separate mixed source groups when a shared frame would hide subjects.
Branding
✓Use Watermark for an image mark; Text Overlay is a distinct operation.
Use a separate image-editing workspace when preparing exported delivery copies.
Output control
✓Choose destination, naming, format, and collision behavior.
Keep the master files and review a representative sample before delivery.
Simple decision:
Complete any native or cloud-library preparation first. Use UniConverter for the local image-editing collection, then upload or associate outputs separately.

How to Use ACDSee Batch Edit and Watermarks

A batch preset saves time only when it suits the source collection. Review different dimensions, orientations, and compositions before reusing the settings.

Select the Collection and Open Batch Edit

In Manage mode, select the photos you intend to edit and open Tools > Batch > Batch Edit. On the Processing Profile tab, choose the operations needed for the job. The Image List can add or remove sources as you refine the selection. Do not assume every ACDSee edition uses the same menu path.

  • Group images with a shared destination and editing requirement.
  • Avoid adding unrelated operations to an otherwise simple job.
  • Consider ACDSee Actions when a reusable recorded sequence better fits the task.

Configure Crop and Resize, Then Preview Exceptions

Choose Crop or Resize in the Batch Edit wizard to adjust its settings. Use Before and After, or Original Image and Final Image, to inspect the combined result. Move between source images with Next Image and Previous Image so a preset is not judged only from the first file.

  • Check both portrait and landscape photos.
  • Inspect subjects near the edges before accepting a shared crop.
  • Confirm final pixel dimensions rather than assuming a crop ratio also sets the required size.

Add the Watermark and Set Output Options

Enable Watermark and choose the watermark graphic. Adjust its placement, sizing, and blending or opacity controls, then inspect different image sizes. Use Text Overlay when the task calls for that separate text operation. Continue to Output Options and choose the destination, naming, file format, and collision behavior before processing.

  • Keep the mark’s proportions and avoid covering important details.
  • Use a separate output folder for the first run.
  • Review the completion summary or log for failed images, then open representative results.

Review the completion log, naming rules, and collision handling. A skip or overwrite choice can affect output count even when processing otherwise completes.

Use UniConverter to Batch Edit the Local Image Files

UniConverter Batch Image Editor provides a separate workspace for supported local images. Import the collection, choose the delivery edits, review exceptions, and Export All. Keep cloud-library management, product associations, or presentation insertion as separate actions after the image files are ready.

  • Bring related files or a folder into one project.
  • Choose only the edits needed by the destination.
  • Inspect portrait, landscape, and small-source exceptions.
  • Follow the independent UniConverter tutorial below and keep the original files.

Keep the source originals and use the exported files for the intended delivery. The independent tutorial below covers UniConverter Batch Image Editor.

Key Settings and Decisions Before You Run the Batch

Review the settings that change the result rather than relying on the word batch. Keep the source collection and destination clearly separated while you test.

SetupOutputUse casesDelivery

Keep originals and inspect the result in the intended destination. A successful processing task is not proof that every source needed the same settings.

Practical Uses for This Batch Workflow

Choose a collection with a shared goal, then review the files that differ in source condition or delivery requirements.

Photographer proofs

Add a visible review mark while retaining clean masters for final delivery.

Product collections

Prepare a coherent size and crop plan, then inspect item margins and mark placement.

Campaign images

Reuse a suitable editing preset across a related set of exported assets.

Mixed-orientation archives

Split images by the changes they need rather than applying one crop to every source.

Common Problems and How to Fix Them

Use a representative sample to isolate a wrong setting before rerunning the complete collection. Keep originals so the result remains reversible.

01

A watermark is correct on one image but awkward on another

Inspect image dimensions and orientation. A shared watermark setting can occupy a different relative area across mixed source sizes; split the group or revise placement.

02

The batch crop removes important subjects

A common ratio does not identify the important part of each photo. Review individual compositions and keep exceptions out of an unsuitable preset.
Check 2Check 2
03

The destination has fewer files than expected

Review the completion log, naming rules, and collision handling. A skip or overwrite choice can affect output count even when processing otherwise completes.

How do I batch edit photos in ACDSee?

In Windows editions with Batch Edit, select the images in Manage mode, open Tools > Batch > Batch Edit, choose operations, preview the collection, set Output Options, and complete the wizard.
Enable Watermark in the wizard, choose the graphic, set its placement and blending, and inspect several source images. Then configure output options and process the collection.
They are distinct operations in the documented Windows Batch Edit workflow. Choose a graphic watermark or the separate text treatment according to the task.
Only when it suits the compositions. Matching dimensions or a shared ratio does not guarantee that all subjects remain inside the frame. Review portrait, landscape, and edge-subject exceptions.
Do not assume Windows Batch Edit menus match the Mac edition. Use the documented workflow for the installed edition; this native tutorial describes the Windows wizard.
Use Batch Image Editor as a separate local workspace for supported delivery-image edits such as resize, crop, basic adjustments, backgrounds, or watermarking. Review the collection and Export All while keeping the originals.
