How to Convert TIFF to PDF
Check files and source pages
Open each TIFF and note its page count, orientation, and reading order. Decide whether you need a separate PDF for each file or one combined document. A multipage TIFF and a folder of separate TIFFs require different page-handling checks.
Choose a PDF-capable conversion route
For a browser workflow, use a TIFF-capable PDF converter and select the scans. On Mac, use a PDF-capable image export such as UniConverter for Mac or Preview. For Windows, use a PDF application or print-to-PDF route; UniConverter Windows image output does not include PDF.
Export and verify the PDF
Choose PDF and save the document. Open it in a PDF viewer and compare page count, page order, orientation, and readability with the TIFF originals. If you need searchable text, run OCR separately and proofread important names, numbers, and dates.
Convert TIFF to PDF with UniConverter for Mac
PDF image output is available in the Mac workflow. For Windows, use a PDF-capable application or a suitable print-to-PDF route.
See the official Mac image conversion guide.
Open Image Converter on Mac
Open UniConverter for Mac, go to Image, and select Image Converter. Add the TIFF scan using Add Images or Add Folder.

Choose PDF output
Choose PDF as the output for the supported Mac image workflow. For multipage scans or a combined document, use a document converter that explicitly supports the required page handling.

Export and count pages
Start the conversion and open the PDF. Check every page, its order, orientation and readability. Use OCR separately if searchable text is needed.

Before you finish: compare the result with the source, check the actual dimensions and file size, and open it in the application where it will be used. Keep the original until these checks pass.
TIFF vs PDF: What Changes?
| What to compare | TIFF | |
|---|---|---|
| Extension | .tif or .tiff | |
| Role | Raster images, scans, and image masters | Document container for consistent page presentation |
| Multiple pages | A TIFF can contain several pages | Can hold an ordered multipage document |
| Searchable text | A scanned image does not contain a text layer by default | Requires text content or OCR; not automatic |
| Sharing | May require a TIFF-capable viewer | Widely supported by document viewers |
| File size | Depends on pages, pixels, and compression | Not automatically smaller; image settings matter |
| Print layout | Image dimensions and resolution affect output | Page size, scaling, margins, and rotation matter |
| Original master | Retain scans and any required metadata | Use the PDF as the reviewed document copy |

Practical Tips for TIFF to PDF
Documents that recipients can open
A PDF copy is practical for invoices, application forms, scanned records, and email attachments. Choose a page size and orientation appropriate to the document. Keep the TIFF original when you need the source scan or its image-specific metadata.
Online TIFF to PDF options
PDF24 provides a dedicated online TIFF-to-PDF workflow, and other PDF services offer similar tools. Select a service whose page-handling options match your document. Online services have their own processing and privacy terms; use an appropriate local route for restricted documents.
PDF output on UniConverter for Mac
UniConverter lists TIFF image input and PDF image output for Mac. Use Image Converter for supported local image conversion and inspect the result. PDF output support alone does not establish all-page TIFF splitting, combined-document creation, or OCR support.
Windows has a different route
Do not use the Mac-only PDF output claim as a Windows instruction. On Windows, open the scan in a TIFF-capable application and use a PDF creation tool or Microsoft Print to PDF when available. Check the print preview includes every intended page before saving.
Multipage scans need counting
For a ten-page TIFF, verify that the PDF contains all ten intended pages. For several files, check their sequence and whether the tool creates one PDF or separate outputs. Filename sorting and page order are different controls, so inspect the final document.
OCR is a separate decision
A PDF made from a scan may still be only page images. If you need search, copying, or indexing, use OCR in a PDF application. Review recognition accuracy, particularly for small text, skewed pages, handwriting, tables, and low-contrast scans.
