How to Convert TIFF to JPG
Add the TIFF or TIF image
Upload your .tiff or .tif file to the online converter. Check whether it is a single image or a multipage scan. For a local folder of supported images, open UniConverter Desktop Image Converter and add the files or folder.
Select JPG for the delivery copy
Choose JPG or JPEG. Review the available quality and dimension settings on desktop. Keep enough pixels for the intended use and inspect fine text or line art: JPEG compression is lossy and transparency will not survive as alpha transparency.
Save and review every needed image
Run the conversion and save the JPG. Compare its dimensions, orientation, color, and readability with the source. If the TIFF contains multiple pages, verify the output count; a single saved JPG does not contain the full document.
Convert TIFF to JPG with UniConverter Desktop
Use a local conversion queue for supported files, then review the exported copy before sharing.
See the official image conversion guide.
Open Image Converter and add files
Open UniConverter Desktop, go to Image, and choose Image Converter. Add the supported TIFF images or their folder.

Choose JPG output
Select JPG in the output-format settings and review the available image settings. Preview a representative file before converting the full folder.

Convert and inspect the copies
Choose a save location, start conversion, and open the results. Compare the exported images with the originals before sharing.

Before you finish: compare the result with the source, check the actual dimensions and file size, and open it in the application where it will be used. Keep the original until these checks pass.
TIFF vs JPG: What Changes?
| What to compare | TIFF | JPG |
|---|---|---|
| Extension | .tif or .tiff | .jpg or .jpeg |
| Content | One image or multiple image directories/pages | One flattened image per ordinary JPG file |
| Compression | May be uncompressed, lossless, or lossy | Lossy compression for common delivery JPEGs |
| Bit depth | Supports a range of depths and color workflows | Common delivery uses 8 bits per channel |
| Transparency | Some TIFF files include alpha transparency | No alpha transparency |
| Common use | Scans, print work, image masters, archives | Web images, email, previews, compatible uploads |
| File size | Depends on pixels, pages, compression, and depth | Often smaller at suitable quality; not guaranteed |
| Archive choice | Retain the original when quality or metadata matters | Keep as an access or delivery copy |

Practical Tips for TIFF to JPG
One converter for TIFF and TIF
You do not need to rename .tif to .tiff before converting. Both extensions identify the same format family. Add the original file and create a JPG copy for a destination that does not accept TIFF, such as an image-upload form or email preview.
An online route for a quick copy
Use the online TIFF to JPG converter for an occasional image task within the allowance shown in the tool. Keep your original separately and inspect the downloaded result. For a folder of high-resolution scans, a desktop queue is easier to manage.
A local batch workflow
UniConverter Desktop Image Converter supports supported TIFF input and JPG/JPEG output. Add files or a folder, choose the target format and save location, then process the queue. Start with one sample if the set includes different scanners, color spaces, or dimensions.
Quality matched to the image
JPEG works well for photographic delivery, but aggressive compression can create artifacts around small text and sharp lines. Choose an appropriate quality setting and inspect at actual viewing size. Keep the TIFF when you need a higher-quality master for print or future edits.
A deliberate multipage check
Several TIFF files in a queue and several pages inside one TIFF are different situations. If you need every page as a separate JPG, use a workflow that explicitly exports all pages. Compare the number of output images with the source page count.
Color and transparency awareness
A TIFF can use higher bit depth, CMYK, or transparency that does not transfer directly to a typical JPEG. Review the background and color appearance after conversion. For alpha transparency or lossless line-art delivery, consider PNG when the destination accepts it.
