Well, there are many DVD review websites available over the Internet. It is a good practice to first check DVD reviews before placing an order for the same. I prefer to check DVD reviews on following review portals: RottenTomatoes.com, dvd.netflix.com, DVDTalk.com, DVDReview.com, Blu-ray.com, Cinemablend.com. All these are some popular portals that will provide genuine and useful DVD reviews. There are a number of parameters on which these review portals evaluate a movie/DVD. You will also get authentic reviews from different users on above mentioned portals in order to make the final decision of purchasing or renting any DVD. If you are specifically looking for movie/web series or TV show reviews then I would suggest you to go with Google Movie Reviews, Rotten Tomato or IMDb. Google Movie reviews can be checked by simply making a search on Google with the Movie/Web Series/TV show name. The result will be available on the right hand side in the form of a rich snippet that will have ratings from IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and other authentic sources.

It totally depends on the release of the movie, its performance in the theaters and the web streaming telecast rights of that movie. So, the average time that a movie takes to appear on Netflix for its users can vary from 1 to 3 months. Also, if Netflix has an agreement with the production house of that movie for the early telecast rights then the movie might get released on Netflix at the same time or within a few weeks of movie’s initial release. But depending on your Netflix subscription plan, the movie will be available for you. Just for an instance, if a movie falls flat in the theaters/cinemas then it will be available on Netflix within a week or two irrespective of your Netflix subscription plan. But if a movie is going great at the box office and has made a very good box office collection, then it might take some time before you get that movie on Netflix. So, there is no specific interval for that but you can expect a movie to appear within 3 months from initial release and only in exceptional cases the interval goes beyond this.

In terms of movies & DVDs, the Regional codes, Country codes and Zone locks are a kind of security imposed on Medias like Streaming Videos, DVDs, CDs etc. As you are well aware of the fact that most of the movies are released across the globe at different times. A movie released in the USA in January might get released in Europe/UK or Asia in February or March. So in order to avoid media being distributed in the areas where it is yet to be released, some security codes and locks are used by media distributors. Regional codes is an encryption applied by the DVD makers on DVDs for a particular region, whereas Country codes and zone locks are encryption applied on DVDs to be distributed/ released for a specific country and zone respectively so that these media can’t be played in the regions which are not yet authorized for it. There are basically 7 regions/zones identified for this purse and each has a number assigned to it. Every media is assigned a region code and it can also have region codes of multiple regions that are authorized for using/playing that media.

I often watch DVDs at home. Sometimes I make use of DVD players and sometimes on my PC/Laptop. Whenever I get bored I prefer to get a few DVDs out of my DVD collection and start watching them one by one. Although I don’t get much time daily but on weekends, watching DVD at home is one of my best pastimes. I have a huge collection of DVDs purchased over the years and most DVDs are of the Action, Horror, Comedy and Thriller genre. I bought a few of them online from Netflix, and eBay while other DVDs from the DVD stores. Out of my collection, there are many movies that I prefer to watch again and again but a few of them I haven’t watched even once yet. So, on weekends I always have a lot of choices of movies that I can watch while staying at home. Although it might look boring to you, it is not at all. I watch DVDs only at night and during the day time I prefer to go out with my friends and family during weekends. So, I have a proper balance between real life and reel life.
